How We Help Public Groups: Scouts & Guides
How We Can Help You
Andrew Backhouse
Last Update 4 years ago
I was never a Scout - I grew up in a place so remote that the nearest Scout Group was twenty-five miles away and it took too long to get home on an evening. So, I am all for helping those who have taken the plunge and trying to improve themselves through improving their community.
That, really, is a similar ethos to the station.
I do not know if "Radio" or "Podcasting" is a badge - but I can come and help you work towards it if needed, at your HQ or at Creao Studio - if there is supervision.
What You Need To Supply
I will need your outfit to supply at least one modern smart phone (less than 5 years old). The more phones we have the better - they will be shared amongst the group for the recording of vocals and then given back to their owner. Bring Mum or Dad - they will want to keep an eye on their tech? Heck, you may have your own?
We may need a small white board or a place to pop post-its.
Please bring a pen
What I Will Do...
Over the course of how long it will take, I will brainstorm a series of concepts. We will then flesh these out and we will nail down what we want to broadcast.
i will then show you the technology of Podcasting or making your own show. All you really need is a smart phone - and my laptop. I will do the donkey work on the laptop to piece together all of the audio recorded by the Scouts / Guides and come back at a later date to get the Scouts / Guides to help assemble it.
I will then master the product, ready for transmission.
We will figure out the best time to schedule the broadcast and the show will be available on the station's listen again page.
A copy of the show will be emailed to your group leader upon completion, so they can forward it on to the Scouts / Guides.
